2009 International Holstein Show
Grand Champion
Harvue Roy Frosty, Duckett, Junemann & Armbrust

Reserve Grand Champion
Thrulane James Rose, Ferme Pierre Boulet Inc.

It's been a fantastic show these last two days.  I'm glad to see our junior champions from yesterday.  What beautiful heifers that look as good today as yesterday.  They can both be competitive around the world.  And our intermediate champions - also two beautifully stylish cows.  This 2-year-old is my kind of cow with her power, width and beautiful frame.  And our beautiful senior champions!  What a group!

I'd like to thank Paul.  He's been a great friend of mine that I met 20 years ago.  I figure if you can't beat your competition than join them!  We have worked together a long time.  We talk a lot about what we like.  He has great knowledge about many of the champions that are featured above us on the banners.  He's done a lot for me over the years and he's been an important part of the champions that we've had.  I'm very honored to have him here.  We like the same kind of cows.

I'd like to thank my parents also.  They are my fan club.  They go to a lot of shows that I judge and they stop by the farm to see if we're doing a good job.  I thank them that they put me in 4-H.  As a young kid, I didn't know what to do.  I started showing grade heifers and eventually bought my first registered Holstein.  They gave me a great opportunity and I had an extension agent that took me around to judge.  Little did I know back then that it would take me here.  But if you work hard and are a good person, you can achieve a lot.  Thanks to my parents for giving me.

I need to thank Nicky.  She has been by my side for eight years now and works day in and day out.  There's never a dull moment.  She always gives 100% all the time and has always been by my side.  Without her, I wouldn't be here.  She's the "rose" of Rosedale.

I'd like to thank the exhibitors in the barn.  That's where we both grew up.  They have been supportive of us and we learned how to show and how to judge from them.  We've always learned something.  Hopefully someone can learn from us also.

But let's get back to the show because it's not about us, it's about the cows and exhibitors.

Today, there's no denying our senior champions.  There have been a lot of great cows out here, ones that rank with those legends listed on the banners.  These are two honorable cows.  Two legendary cows.  But my black cow has that advantage in frame.  She's a little taller, a little harder on the top, has a little more power and a tremendous side view.  Two great cows.  Congratulations!
